me-and-jeremyMany of you may remember us from our days of blogging over at The Frugal Find.  My husband and I (Mr. Frugal) blogged over there for 5 years.  That season of life was both full of blessings and equally left me poured out and empty.  There came a time near the end of our 5 years over at TFF where I felt I had lost my passion, I was exhausted and in desperate need of a change. We made the decision to sell the blog and let me tell you that was freeing!  For 5 years we were tied to a computer, quite literally.  From sun-up to well after sun-down I was on the job – hunting down deals and sharing the latest and greatest frugal finds.  I loved it, I really did but we just couldn’t keep going at that pace.  We craved a simpler life, even just a weekend away from the blog but that never once came in those 5 years.  It’s a very demanding genre of blogging, well it was.  It doesn’t have to be but it was for us at that time.

We sold the blog to a sweet lady who we really thought could take the torch and run the race but in time she realized that she wasn’t passionate about the things I had built TFF around and ultimately she came to the conclusion that it was my vision and not hers.  That was heart breaking, I don’t doubt for both of us.  For many months now I haven’t been able to stifle the stirring I’ve felt in my spirit about re-joining you guys here in this space, this frugal world.  To be honest I have tried, because quite frankly starting all over from scratch isn’t the most exciting thing ever but I must.  I can’t stay away any longer, I have so much I want to share with you!  It has always been my passion.  Things will be a little different this time around, many of the changes I am sure you will love.  For one my sidekick Mr. Frugal is working full-time so he won’t be here as often, but I do have a couple of frugal-teens-in-training that may guest post from time to time.

In the time after we sold the blog we took some off to spend as a family, we went camping and traveled the Oregon Coast.   We also decided to bring the kids home again to homeschoool and we sold our first home.  Many changes came in the years that followed.  We bought a few acres in a small town and started a little farm.  We craved the “simple” life but let me tell you it’s anything but simple.  More on that in the weeks to come.  I will say it may not be simple but it’s rich, it’s so good.

I have so many things I want to share with you.  I want to share with you the story of the goat that we bought to be a friend of the horse but turned out he thought he was a dog.  I want to share with you the ultimate trade/barter that we made with a former TFF reader and now friend.  I want to share with you how I’m saving $ these days even though all the major stores are 45 minutes away.  I want to tell you why we have pigs in the pen outside my son’s bedroom window.  I want to share with you how an almost 15 year old girl has worked so hard and saved every penny she’s earned and now owns 2 of her very own horses.  I want to tell you about the truck we bought at a garage sale for $200.   I want to share with you how much debt sucks.  I want to tell you that there is HOPE.  I want to remind you that the desperate circumstances of your life today are not going to last forever.  There IS a light at the end of the tunnel, it may just be very dim right now. I want to share my heart with you and I want to give you a platform to share yours.

All that to say, it’s so so so good to be back.
